With deep water at your back door, the Nanticoke River is a very popular destination for recreational fishing of multiple species, such as Channel catfish, Largemouth bass, and Rockfish (striped bass) for which the river is a respected spawning ground. One of the Eastern Shore’s most pristine waterways with deep channels for the recreational boater as well as placid creeks making it a paddlers’s dream seeking sights of bald eagles, the river leads directly into the Chesapeake Bay and is part of the Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Discovery Trail.

Located 50 miles from the famous Maryland beaches at Ocean City, nearby Salisbury Airport for American Airlines commercial flights, 75 miles to historic Annapolis, 100 miles to Washington D.C. and Baltimore with just a 2 1/2 hour drive from Philadelphia. For private air travel, the Easton, MD airport (ESN) as well as Salisbury (SBY) are but 30 plus minute drives.
