The Monon trail in Carmel Indiana was built on an old rail line abandoned in 1987 after rail travel declined between Chicago and Indianapolis. Since then, the city has invested in more than 25 miles of trail from Sheridan, Indiana all the way to downtown Indianapolis. This video covers a stretch of trail starting close to Sheridan and ending in Midtown Carmel. Today the Monon sees more than 1.3 million users every year and constitutes a great pastime for families and sports enthusiast around the city.
