One Second Everyday // 2021

2021 marked the first full year living in Seattle and the start of my second year of graduate school to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. My world grew much smaller this year yet was filled with new experiences: climbing, bouldering, surfing, bikepacking, and a return to Alaska. I got a taste of working in primary care this summer and loved it. It was a year of finding community and connection (even though I’m often the oldest by far) and trying to feel rooted after years of national and international travel. I’m still working on it, and on maintaining these connections (i.e. not becoming a hermit) despite the increasing pressure of graduate school. My hope for 2022 is to be content with a small, simple life while not losing the passion for what I love.
