Winner of the 2021 LVMH Karl Lagerfeld Prize and Designer Accelerator participant, South African brand Lukhanyo Mdingi believes in a mindful approach when creating design that is honest, steady and strong.

BRIDGES, the brand’s second collection, is a celebration of the key networks and human beings behind the craft. The stunning pieces were created utilising hand-dyed and organic cotton fabrics manufactured by Burkina Faso-based social enterprise CABES. In addition, this SS22 collection features a collaboration with South African visual artist Jeanne Gaigher that added a combination of rhythmic sensibility to the essence of handcraft that made this collection unique.
