This week on State of the Arts, Climate Art, Rose Marie McCoy, Armenian American Artists, and Field Companion

Rose Marie McCoy wanted to be a singer, but it was her songwriting that landed her on the music charts in the 1950s and ‘60s. Rose, a longtime Teaneck, NJ resident, wrote over 800 songs for Elvis, Aretha Franklin, and more. Along New Jersey’s storied coast, artists focus on climate change and the devastating impact of rising sea levels, raising public awareness through dance, sculpture, ceramics and immersive installations. Field Companion takes a virtual walk through the New Jersey Pine Barrens. And Armenian American artists respond to the trauma of the 1915 Armenian Genocide by salvaging their history through art.
