Grime Origins: Birth Of A Sound

Grime was created by youth who grew up on UK garage, drum-and-bass, Jungle and Jamaica’s dancehall music. They laid down lyrics detailing the harsh realities of council estate life on top of heavy basslines, erratic snares, and synths.

Legendary artist — Dizzee Rascal — solo produced the groundbreaking Grime album „Boy In Da Corner“, which won multiple prestigious UK music industry awards and ultimately paved the way for other Grime artists to sign to major record labels and begin topping the UK music charts.
