Sleeping Around Safely Sustainable Seattle

FESCH.TV INFORMIERT:

Can you guess where the Oh The People You Meet traveling team is Sleeping Around Safely now…?

Since September 2020 my head has hit many a pillow to document travel companies who were welcoming travelers back safely + sustainably

In mini-sode we’re sleeping around in Seattle where our vessel, Norwegian Cruise Line Encore sets sail for her Alaska itineraries.

Did you know that NCL is the FIRST global cruise line to eliminate plastic bottles + straws?! That’s over 11 million bottles + 50 million straws annually! What a great start to solving a big problem.

Before we headed to the final frontier we had to see what Seattle was all about. One of the most inspiring folks we’ve met (as in ever) is Laura Clise – the  President + CEO of Intentionalist- a company devoted to finding, learning about, and supporting local small businesses + the diverse people behind them in Seattle. Laura took us around a lesser explored part of town, the Seattle Chinatown-International District, introduced us to several small businesses + shared the meaning behind her #SpendLikeItMatters mantra…every day decisions, like where to eat and shop, shape the community around us!

OTPYM is also a woman-owned business, and we love supporting other woman-owned businesses! I loved meeting the Boss Babe co-owners of Shop Sairen… and of course playing dress up for a little bit is always fun!

We caught up with Visit Seattle President + CEO, Tom Norwalk, about the tourism board’s work expanding sustainable travel experiences in Seattle, but in a way that benefits the local communities. Can’t wait to return to this vibrant city surrounded by so much epic nature + the point of departure to Alaska!

Pack a bag + journey on with us,
Michaela + the OTPYM Traveling Team
