FLASHBACK: 1982-01-23 / January 23rd, 1982

This Flashback video brings us back to 1982 years when the UK Charts were lead by a British quartet that scored their 2nd #1 single – the first one launched their careers and won them the Eurovision Song Contest in 1981. They had a 3rd #1 later as well. Meanwhile in the US it was an English-born Australian female with her 5th and final #1 single in the country. This one might have been her most controversial with very risque lyrics (for that time). And in Germany it was a homegrown singer with a song that was made for carnival and party. It was his only #1 in the country.
