F Word at Work – Kreena Dhiman.mp4

FESCH.TV INFORMIERT:

Join us for our free ‚F Word at Work‘ lunch and learn sessions where we bring to life the experiences of people dealing with fertility struggles and loss in the workplace.

In this session we spoke to the amazing @KreenaDhiman (). Kreena has an incredible story of building her family against the odds, following a diagnosis of breast cancer and, as a result of chemotherapy treatment, also a diagnosis of heart failure.

She finally had her daughter through IVF and surrogacy, followed by her triplet sons through donor egg IVF and surrogacy. Kreena found that as she wasn’t the one physically getting pregnant and as surrogacy was so unspoken about, she felt that she couldn’t share they were trying to conceive with anyone in her place of work.

As a result, all of her appointments and even overseas travel was carried out on her days off or using annual leave. She shares her fears around career progression when it comes to trying for a baby, which factored into her decision not to disclose.

There’s a lot for employers to learn about the complexities and emotions surrounding surrogacy, some of which Kreena gave an insight into as she shared her personal story with us.
