TOP TEN: Example
He was born as Elliott John Gleave in London, England. When he was younger he was diagnosed with ‚Asperger‘, a mild form of autism. Inspired by albums of Wu-Tang Clan and Snoop Dogg he started rapping. Gleave studied BA Media Arts at Royal Holloway, University of London, where he met producer Joseph Gardner aka Rusher. After releasing 3 singles on his own imprint label „All The Chats“ he got radio airplay by BBC radio station ‚Radio One‘. This led to him getting signed by a record label in 2006.
His first album „What We Made“ was released in 2007 and didn’t crack the UK album Top 100. But his 2nd album „Won’t Go Quietly“ in 2010 did and peaked at #4, while topping the UK dance album charts. Two singles of the album, the same titled ‚Won’t Go Quietly‘ (#6) and ‚Kickstarts‘ (#3) reached the Top 10 in the UK Single Charts.
In June 2011 his first single of the 3rd album „Playing In The Shadows“ was released and became his first #1 single in his homecountry. It also reached Top 10 in Germany and Ireland and reached the Top 20 in Australia. The follow-up single „Stay Awake“ also topped the UK single charts. The album became his only #1 in the UK album charts and has been certified platinum.
In 2012 his collab with Scottish DJ Calvin Harris „We’ll Be Coming Back“ peaked at #2 and then later that year he released his 4th studio album „Evolution of Man“, which peaked at 13. The single „One More Day (Stay With Me)“ became his 8th and so far final Top 10 song in the UK, peaking at #4. He released his next studio album „Live Life Living“ in 2014 and peaked at #8 in the UK album charts.
After a break and some unsatisfying results he took a break and returned in 2018 with his 6th studio album „Bangers & Ballads“ and 2 years later his 7th studio album called „Some Nights Last For Days“ both did not chart in the UK album charts.
But in 2022 his next album „We May Grow Old But We Never Grow Up“ returned to the charts where it peaked at #64.
