An Unexpected Journey & FESCH.TV:

We are excited to unveil “An Unexpected Journey”, a minute and a half long surrealist film showcasing the ‘Home of the Braves’ exhibition by Jean-Charles de Castelbajac. Produced by Joseph Doran and directed by Emmanuel Li, this film plunges viewers into Jean-Charles‘ takeover of Sketch, transforming it into the bowels of a sleeping giant, now awoken and electrified by his activation.

Through an energetic, whimsical lens, the film presents vignettes of Jean-Charles playfully interacting with exhibits and the building itself as it ‘comes to life.’ The installation is a tribute to the Suffragettes, with a voiceover from Jean-Charles expressing a manifesto that anchors the themes of activism and change.

Set against a bright, fast-paced montage with creative camera moves, surreal compositions, and a dreamlike soundtrack, the film fuses video-collage with powerful visuals, delivering a manifesto that inspires protest and activism in a vibrant, accessible way. “An Unexpected Journey” is not just a reflection of Jean-Charles‘ artistic vision but also a call to action.
