Join Far Fung Places, Ali Adventure Egypt and renowned Egyptologist, Mohammed Ali where you will cruise up the Nile on a private 16 passenger luxurious dahabiya (an ancient sailing vessel re-designed for small groups with all the modern necessities) from Esna to Aswan visiting the stunning Temple of Edfu, Kom Ombo, a double temple connected to the Horus, and the myth of Sobek, the crocodile god, with rare relief carvings of the first surgical instruments.

We will also visit the Nubian villages where real Egypt life unfolds along the Nile to learn about rural life along the Nile delta (note: this experience is only available for smaller groups/boats traveling in a dahabiya).

Your educational adventure starts in Cairo with the Grand Egyptian Museum (the largest archeological museum in the world), the Great Pyramids at Giza, and beyond to the earliest pyramids at Dahshur and Saqqara with a visit to the Serapeum (with special permission) .

Further afield, we explore the most renowned tombs of the pharaohs at the Valley of the Kings, exquisitely adorned with paintings and reliefs that portray the journey to the afterlife. Abu Simbel reveals the massive relocation project to save the magnificent twin temples of Pharaoh Ramses II and Queen Nefartari from being inundated by the Nile’s rising waters.

Ali will teach us all about their language of symbols called hieroglyphics and their advanced knowledge of mathematics.
