A successful writer (Knud Romer) is not doing very well. His wife left him with the children and now he is losing his sight. He decides to make a grand tour through Europe, as this will be his last chance to see places and art that matter to him. A sightseeing tour for a man going blind. He asks a young female poet to travel with him. She lives on an island in Denmark and is searching for her own path of truth. As a feminist she sees patriarchs where he sees heroes. When he wants to point to established shrines of western civilisation she sees cities built on oppression and colonisation. Who will save who and what will they learn in the process?
