„All I can say is that Saudi Arabia is taking the lead in the energy transition today. That’s where we are. We’re still thinking about how to manage the energy transition in a sustainable and resilient fashion, how to manage the supply of critical minerals, how to protect the environment, how to generate formulas on the state-level that translate locally for these communities to financially diversify and also to open up commerce. That’s what I would say about this forum.
I think the super region is a great idea. Today, my country, the Democratic Republic of Congo, is at a crossroads. We have nearly all of the critical minerals in the Earth beneath us. It would be difficult to provide them to everyone who wants them tomorrow but by creating regional groups like this, we can find equitable ways to address the needs of our region and ease commerce to provide for one another and transform our people’s lives on a local level.“
