BLUE YONDER – FESCH.TV

FESCH.TV INFORMIERT:

What color is the Ocean?

Blue Yonda is a project grounded on biological discoveries and physical encounters on the environmental coast in Portugal. The research explores the future of cultivating and harvesting micro and macro algae for quotidian applications.

Focusing on two of the major Atlantic Ocean polluters: micro plastics and fashion dyes effluents, the project is realised through a 100% oceanic algal material, structured by algae biopolymers and ornamented with phycocianin blue pigment.

In search of oceanic blue, seawater photosynthetic pigments were harvested, observed and integrated to unveil the potential of colour as data. Blue Yonda intends to engage upon the impermanence of biodegradable materials, reflect on design choices and regenerate rythyms. It sychronises materials with product/space purpose, in the fluid and shifting modernity.
