Briful World – FESCH.TV
FESCH.TV INFORMIERT:
This project focuses on a specific aspect of climate change, where it sheds light on the vital issues of the fast fashion industry and our participation in overconsumption. As we continue to live in a consumer society that prioritizes making profit off of the demanding needs of individuals, we often do not consider where possessions like our clothes come from or where they may end up when they’re discarded. Utilizing the power that art can have when producing it for activism, the film creatively presents how our damaging actions to our earth can no longer be ignored and that we must reconsider our selfish lifestyles.
Through the combination and collaging of paintings and real photographs, the film reveals the persistence of unsustainable practices that fast fashion companies ignorantly exploit. For instance, factories and burning landfills increase harmful greenhouse gas emissions like carbon dioxide, the amount of toxic waste that’s developed is polluting our environment, and the companies’ sweatshops unethically degrade many innocent lives. All of the paintings and artwork are done by myself and the use of earthy tones and yellow, green, and blue colors were used to symbolize our planet and give the film a coherent aesthetic.
