Budget Backpacking South East Asia

After a whole year of planning I set out with my future husband on an 11 month trip with nothing but our two backpacks & our wits, starting on the 3rd of January 1995. It has taken me 27 years to put this video together!
The photos in this video are just a taste of the hundereds of photos we have from our trip taking in India, Nepal (& Everest Base Camp trek) China, Thailand, Malaysia, & Indonesia. & our trip certainly was not without mishap. I smashed my brains out on a wet toilet floor in Mumbai (almost on the first day!) I caught ameobic dysentry during out bus ride from Gorakhpur to Kathmandu (delaying our Everest trek for a week) & we has a serious head on bus crash on the side of a mountain near Tibet where the words „Game Over“ flashed in my eyes! & it was hard work too! We stayed in the budget of most strict budget guest houses or camped with out tent when we could, over-landed by local train & bus & genrally „roughed it“ when we could. I eventually lost patience with this when I saw a rat run across the floor of our no star guest house in Penang. Packed up my back pack & booked into the nearest Raddison hotel! However this was near the end of our trip, which finished in November in Singapore.
