„Caruda’s Summer 2023 Collection: Accumulations of Matter and Feeling

In this collection, I decided to speak in shapes and volumes about that story that repeats about us fashion creators. Sometimes, that’s how we got interested in fashion—when the child I was grew up among the leftover fabric scraps from the seamstress aunt of a neighbour-friend, weaving a tapestry of connections and thus shaping an understanding of the environment and time through the materials and volumes emerging from those creations.
I bring these fabrics I’ve been dismantling from pieces out of use since 2004—many scraps from other spaces of time. When I model, I try to bring the experiences between the city and its cultural landscapes—my and your bodily movements and accumulations of materials—since I’m an accumulator. These are the primary bases used in the creation process for this collection—shaping some accumulations of materials and sentiments from our everyday lives or those who identify with them.
