Celebrating Black History

In this video clip, Pastor Clarence Jones kicks off the Black History Month Celebration at Spiritual Harvest Worship Center. The theme for the celebration is „The Black Family: Representation, Identity and Diversity. Pastor Felton Ivey also shares with us in this clip information about „The Negro Travelers‘ Green Book.“ The Green Book became „the bible of Black travel during Jim Crow“, enabling Black travelers to find lodgings, businesses, and gas stations that would serve them along the road.

Black History Month is an annual observance originating in the United States, where it is also known as African-American History Month. It has received official recognition from governments in the United States and Canada, and more recently has been observed in Ireland, and the United Kingdom.
