영화 „체크리스트“는 자신이 꿈꾸던 댄스 팀에 들어가기 위한 오디션을 보기위해 다른 도시에서 온 소녀 마야의 오디션 날의 여정을 따라간다. 항상 정신없는 마야는 자신의 그런 점을 극복하기 위해 일상에서 체크리스트에 크게 의존하게 된다. 운명적인 오디션 날 아침, 그녀는 자신의 난잡한 숙소의 혼란 속에서도 오디션을 위한 체크리스트를 꼼꼼히 확인하며 긴장된 마음으로 춤연습을 하며 하루를 제대로 시작하려고 노력하지만, 오히려 그것들로 인해 예상보다 늦게 출발하게 되고, 오디션 장소로 가는 길에서도 작은 실수를 하게되어 제 시간에 도착할 수 있는 기회를 위험에 빠뜨린다. 시간과의 경쟁 속에서 긴장감과 급박함이 그녀를 사로잡습니다. 결국, 간신히 오디션 장소에 도착하지만, 그 순간부터 펼쳐지는 큰 실망에 직면한다.

김경남(활동명 Viello Kim)은 미술, 음악, 패션, 편집 등 다양한 창조적 활동에 종사하며 프리랜서로 활발하게 활동해왔습니다. 2023년 여름, 프라하 필름 스쿨에서의 단기 과정을 성공적으로 마치며 본격적으로 필름메이커의 길을 걷기 시작했습니다. 학교에서 며칠간의 짧은 프로젝트로 제작한 영화 „체크리스트“를 통해 프라하 필름 스쿨의 선생님들로부터 큰 지지를 얻었으며, 이 경험은 그에게 영화 제작에 대한 열정을 더욱 고취시켰습니다.
학교에서 만난 동료 필름메이커들과 크루를 결성한 후, 학교 과정이 끝나자마자 네덜란드로 건너가 단편영화 „제인“의 촬영을 마쳤습니다. 현재는 단편영화 „포크포크“의 촬영을 앞두고 있으며, 이를 통해 더욱 다양하고 창의적인 작품 활동을 이어갈 예정입니다.

The film „Checklist“ follows the journey of Maya, a girl from another city, on the day of her audition to join the dance team she has always dreamed of. Constantly scatterbrained, Maya relies heavily on checklists to overcome this aspect of herself in her daily life. On the fateful morning of the audition, amidst the chaos of her cluttered accommodation, she meticulously goes through her checklist for the audition, trying to start the day right with nervous dance practice. However, her reliance on these checklists leads her to leave later than expected and make small mistakes on the way to the audition venue, jeopardizing her chance of arriving on time. The tension and urgency of racing against time grip her throughout the journey. Eventually, she barely makes it to the audition venue, only to face immense disappointment from that moment onwards.

Director’s Intention:
This film was created to reflect the experiences and challenges faced by many, including the director, who are experiencing „adult ADHD,“ a subject garnering much empathy and interest in today’s society. It emphasizes the importance of joy and pure expression, often overlooked in the pursuit of covering up one’s flaws and striving for perfection. „Checklist“ demonstrates how our obsession with success and external standards can obscure the passion and happiness we originally possessed, conveying the message that true freedom and joy should stem naturally from within and not be overshadowed by external pressures.
Ultimately, the film portrays Maya’s journey of learning to listen to her inner voice and emotions, and embracing life in her own way, rather than relying on external tools like checklists. „Checklist“ explores the beauty of accepting oneself as they are and freely expressing oneself.

Viello Kim has been actively working as a freelancer, engaging in various creative activities including art, music, fashion, and editing. In the summer of 2023, he successfully completed a short-term course at the Prague Film School, marking the beginning of his journey as a dedicated filmmaker. A few days‘ project at the school, the film „Checklist,“ garnered significant support from the Prague Film School’s teachers, further igniting his passion for filmmaking.
