zC. L. Hoang is the author of Once Upon a Mulberry Field, Rain Falling on Tamarind Trees, and In the Shadow of Green Bamboos. He was born and raised in Vietnam during the Vietnam War and came to the United States in the 1970’s. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, and earns his living as an electronic engineer, with eleven patents to his name. Books, history, and travel are his hobbies.
