Conversation festival LAMPA 2021
FESCH.TV INFORMIERT:
There was a multitude of viewing and participation opportunities for the seventh LAMPA Conversation Festival on August 20 and 21, 2021.
The Nordic Council of Ministers‘ Office Latvia, together with several cooperation partners, offered meaningful discussions within the framework of the Nordic vision 2030 – to make the Nordic region the most sustainable and integrated region in the world, and includes three strategic areas – a green, competitive, and socially sustainable Nordic region.
In the discussion „The Future Economy Cooperation. Example of a pictogram project“, was discussed about one of the most colourful examples of the circular economy – the development of 91 pictograms, which has started in Denmark but now is being implemented in all Nordic countries. This discussion was made in cooperation with Riga Technical University, EIT Climate-KIC Hub Latvia and the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development.
The discussion „The Impact of Covid-19 on the Food Industry: The Future Menu“ was organized in cooperation with EIT Food Hub Latvia and EIT Climate-KIC Hub Latvia. Discussions about the life after the pandemic – about issues as change of work format and travel habits. But also how we prepare and eat has also taken a huge turn in the pandemic. Ready-to-eat food, changing eating habits, the amount of time spent on food preparation and cooking – all of these issues are covered in many studies during a pandemic.
In co-operation with the Finnish Embassy in Latvia we organised the discussion “The Nordic Approach to Combating Mockery. What can we learn?” Bullying is a worryingly common phenomenon in Latvian schools as shown in recent surveys. This is detrimental to the whole society as bullying doesn’t only mean pain caused for the individual, but also results in mental health issues, lowered educational performance and marginalization. Are we fully aware of damages caused by bullying to the individuals and the society in large? And – are we aware of the existing effective prevention tools used in our neighbouring countries?
