enkraft Government Art Grading Courses (Elementary Grade & Intermediate Grade) are scientifically designed and age-appropriate courses where our Penkraft Master Trainers and certified artists prepare you to appear for and successfully clear Government Art Grading Examination (Elementary & Intermediate levels).

Govt of Maharashtra (Art Directorate) conducts Elementary and Intermediate Art Grading Examinations every year in September. These exams were instituted in 1880 with the idea of encouraging and developing an interest of art education amongst young aspiring individuals. Approximately 2 lac students appear for these examinations each year. The prescribed age limit for students is 17 years for the Elementary & 18 years for the Intermediate Grade Exam.

Clearing these exams (first Elementary and then Intermediate) is a prerequisite for admission to higher learning courses such as Commercial Art, Fine Art, and Foundation. While it is not compulsory for other art courses like Fashion Design, Interior Design, and Textile Design, having this additional certification does give a student an edge over others. In fact, even some ITI and other vocational courses give preference to those who have cleared these exams.

These exams are held in Maharashtra, Goa, Andhra-Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, U.P. and Delhi. The names of the first 60 successful candidates in order of merit for each of the Grade examinations are announced at the examination centres. These exams are open to any candidate – private candidates or candidates from recognized institutions.
