Future Library Handover Day with Karl Ove Knausgård and Tsitsi Dangarembga, 2022

FESCH.TV INFORMIERT:

Karl Ove Knausgård and Tsitsi Dangarembga travel to the Future Library forest to hand over their manuscripts, and announce the titles.

‚Future Library‘ is an artwork by Katie Paterson. A thousand trees have been planted in Nordmarka, a forest just outside Oslo, which will supply paper for a special anthology of books to be printed in 2114. Between now and then, one writer every year will contribute a text, with the writings held in trust, unpublished, until 2114. Margaret Atwood was the first author, David Mitchell followed, then Sjón, Elif Shafak, and Han Kang. Due to the pandemic 2022 saw the Handover event of both the sixth and eighth writers to contribute to the project; Karl Ove Knausgård and Tsitsi Dangarembga. Due to Covid Ocean Vuong the seventh ‚Future Library‘ author was unable to attend the 2022 ceremony. A separate ceremony will be held in spring 2023 for Ocean Vuong.
