This award season has been a groundbreaking time for indigenous representation in film and television. However, there are no native nominees for the upcoming 66th Grammys Awards.

ICT’s Paris Wise spoke with experts in the music industry on why that is and what needs to change.

The Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian is a mainstay institution and resource for educating the world about native people of the western hemisphere. It operates three facilities, which includes two in the D.C. area and one in New York City. Cynthia Chavez Lamar is the director of NMAI.
