FESCH.TV INFORMIERT:
Fundraising to enable the Health & Wellth Festival 2022 and the Cross Pollination Residency Project in Southend.
Partner organisations Intercultural Roots and Cross Pollination have worked closely together over the past three years developing social and artistic projects in London and the South East. In the autumn of 2022, we will join forces once again on an ambitious joint project that will root our presence more deeply in the local community and region. We are reaching out to you to ask for donations in order to resource and deliver our festival and residency programme which will benefit the physical and mental wellbeing of over 500 young artists in London and Southend, inspiring creativity and boosting potential.
We would love to briefly introduce both projects and if you would to learn more about Intercultural Roots and Cross Pollination please follow the links or get in touch.
‚Metamorphosis‘ – Health & WELLth Festival | 28-30 Oct ’22
A three-day full-time programme of creative labs, workshops and performances at Open House Hackney in East London. The festival will enable our community of practitioners, artists and the public to reflect on the transformations required for wellbeing as we look forward beyond our year long Metamorphosis project.
Building on the success of our 2021 Health & WELLth Festival, over 300 people will benefit from meaningful encounters of arts for health and wellbeing and positive social change encompassing communities of people and places.
Metamorphosis provides encounters for overcoming the challenges of our times. It creates spaces and offers tools for participants to ignite and harness a sense of connection, resilience and inspiration (as Intercultural Roots‘ antidotes for loneliness, anxiety and depression) through practice. Metamorphosis will enable opportunities to:
Recognising the signs of loneliness, anxiety and depression
Rekindling ourselves collectively
Critical inquiry about what moves us
Finding together a sense of belonging
Philosophical reflections on what provides us with a sense of trust, connection and flow
Cross Pollination Residency in Southend | 1-18 Nov ’22
Cross Pollination (CP) is an international collective of independent artists and researchers who consolidate a diverse array of disciplines, techniques and traditions, with many years of experience in the field. We investigate what is ‘in between’ practices and people, generating exchange and exploration. Through working with our different practices, we generate encounters, exchange and exploration between artists, students and local communities and environments.
Activities
In late autumn of 2022, we are planning an innovative integrated social arts project in the area of Southend on Sea as a continuation of our ongoing work in the region. In 2019, we established a professional relationship with East 15 Acting School, working with students and the local community, and the Residency Project will take this work forward. It will be offered as a three week residency to students and young people working in the creative sector, under difficult circumstances, with the aim of strengthening the development of their personal practice whilst emphasising community engagement.
During the residency, young participants and artist-facilitators will work together in the studio, developing key artistic skills in theatre, dance, physical comedy and music whilst honing an ability to listen deeply to one another in a democratic, collaborative fashion. The technical work in the studio will flow out into the local community, where participants will apply their creative skills, interacting with the natural and urban environments of the town, with a focus on the historic seafront in particular.
Impact
The work instils other values alongside professional skills, enabling residency participants to develop a meaningful relationship with their practice which can plant the seeds for resilience, connection and positivity whilst integrating both independent and collaborative practices to the core of their productive skills. Our working approach inculcates a professional ethos that is inclusive and generous to others. Understanding their professional practice as a source of strength, positive action and resilience
