About Late to the Party:

Late to the Party is a short about a Trans-man, Jaime, whose past
collides with his present during his birthday party.

Jaime is finally comfortable with himself and surrounded by friends who know him as he
is now. When Carrie, his best friend of fifteen years who knew him before his transition,
arrives at the party as the date of one of his new friends, his thoughts travel back in time to
the girl he once knew. Once, he told her he loved her, thinking she felt the same way. Now
they’ll both seek answers in Jamie’s truth.

Late to the Party is a call to action, a centering of the most neglected narratives. It paints
the picture of a black/queer experience & allows viewers regardless of race, gender
identity, sexual orientation, etc. to see themselves. Late to the Party is a community, united
in shared experiences.
