FESCH.TV INFORMIERT:

This is a short animated story about the history of clothing and women’s social cognition. The costumes refer to European paintings, mostly French. The story follows the life of a young girl living in the Middle Ages and her connection with a magical mirror. Society shackled a generation of women to define their identity by clothing. When people emphasize that you should be a lady again and again, it equates to the image of being a lady with high social status. Being a lady means that you can’t or can’t hold jobs considered by society to be males, such as high-intensity sports and high-IQ jobs that can pay well (represented by lawyers and scientists in the anime).

This restriction also occurs in men. So the boy in the mirror is actually a feminine male who is similarly constrained and unable to express himself. In fact, fashion clothes are the embodiment of social knowledge. We should eliminate the stereotyped impression on gender. We should not let what kind of social image one wears become anyone’s fixed thinking about their future.

I’m not an animation major, so it looks like a mess, but I did my best.
