MARK DONNELLY MEMORIAL SERVICE

FESCH.TV INFORMIERT:

Mark Raymond Donnelly, our beloved husband, father and son, died suddenly on 1 November, 2021 at the age of 39.

Mark is survived by his mother Linda Donnelly, his wife Jaime Donnelly and his sons Thomas and William Donnelly.

Mark was born in Carlton, Victoria to Linda Joy Donnelly. On December 15, 2003 Mark married Jaime Leigh Donnelly (née Mann), a primary school teacher from Seattle, USA who he met while backpacking around Europe. On 16 June, 2009 and 1 July, 2011 respectively, Mark and Jaime welcomed their two beautiful sons Thomas Rohan Donnelly and William Rhys Donnelly, who were the light of Mark’s life and his proudest achievement.

Mark graduated in 2021 from Monash University with a degree in Psychology and had recently embarked on a career as a therapist. He was an empathetic and tender-hearted man who wanted above all to help as many people as possible achieve happiness. He will be dearly missed by his clients and employers.

Mark was an active, devoted father who parented his children with love and gentleness. Mark was always cheering his sons on at karate practise, dance and gymnastics classes, piano and orchestra recitals, and footsal, soccer and baseball matches. On weekends father and sons loved playing video games together on the Xbox, and taking long walks and bike rides in Wright Forest near Mark’s home in Cockatoo.

Mark was an avid sports enthusiast and talented sportsman who had a seemingly never-ending knowledge of a huge range of sporting codes, especially the AFL, NFL and the NBA. His favourite teams were the Carlton Blues, the Melbourne Victory and the Seattle Seahawks. He was a fitness enthusiast who loved long runs in nature, boxing, body building and yoga. Mark had a deep love for and knowledge of music, and he rarely walked, ran, hiked or drove without listening to his carefully curated playlists.

Mark loved to travel, and had spent time in Europe, Asia, America and the Pacific Islands. He thrived in nature, and he felt most at home hiking through the beautiful forests and trails in the Dandenong and Yarra Ranges.

Mark’s family would like to extend their thanks to everyone who has sent their sympathy, especially to his two boys.

A small family ceremony to inter Mark’s ashes was held at his family plot in Heathcote, Victoria on 13 November, 2021. A memorial service for Mark’s many friends and loved ones will be held on 28 November at 11 am, at Nobelius Heritage Park in Emerald.
