is DAMO COX
DJ Bio
With an unapologetic captivation for the house and tech house music pool, Australian DJ, producer and record label curator Damo Cox has crafted a true sonic maven in himself. As a resident of the sunny shores of Gold Coast, Queensland, Damo has delivered his music straight from the studio to the festivals and clubs including the iconic Gold Coast club Elsewhere in Surfers Paradise and Rattlesnake where he held a 4 year residency, while also giving electronic devotees a taste of forefront house music on Sorta Kinda Music, the label he co-owns with fellow music industry peer Sarah Wilkinson.

The last couple of years has seen the addition of several party-geared singles from Damo Cox released on Sorta kinda Music and Hot Sunday Records. His solid bass driven grooves are no stranger to the charts, having landed tracks in the ARIA club charts, iTunes, Traxsource and Beatport charts ‘Trends and Friends [SKM]’ took out #86 spot on the ARIA Club Chart while also climbing to #16 on iTunes House:Australia chart. 2020 welcomed ‘My Mind [SKM]’ a collaboration with co-label head Sarah Wilkinson, going straight to #77 on the ARIA Club Chart and #9 on iTunes House:Australia chart. Damo has also found himself on remix duties for Sarah Wilkinson’s follow up track ‚Got Me Feeling [SKM]‘ which climbed to #29 on the ARIA Club Charts.
Late 2020 has also seen ‚Took a Bite [Hot Sunday Records]‘ which climbed to #44 on the ARIA Club Chart and #47 on Traxsource Tech House Chart and ‚Rolling Away [SKM]‘ which hit #10 on Traxsource Tech House Chart. 2021 Damo collaborated with Sarah Wilkinson again to deliver the track ‚Day For It‘ which soared to #1 on the Traxsource Electro House Chart as well as landing at #63 on the Beatport Future House Chart.

Provoking brooding, festival-ready vibes from the studio, Damo Cox’s original output has led to impressive spots on Australia’s iconic festival Splendour In The Grass in 2019, alongside Wongo and Dena Amy, while his residency at Rattlesnake Coolangatta saw him supporting the likes of Airwolf and Spenda C.
2019 also saw Damo claim a guest spot on the Bondstock bill, at Queensland’s Broadwater Parklands alongside local heros LDRU and Torren Foot, as well as bringing in the New Year of 2020 with Nina Las Vegas at Burleigh Pavillion.

When Damo Cox isn’t serving up a stellar throw-down of records at some of the country’s most prized clubs, events and festivals, he’s conquering airwaves on Radio Metro every Sunday afternoon, showcasing the best from his dance floors to the Sorta Kinda Music catalogue. The not-so-distant future sees new music set to drop from Damo Cox that will be felt through the soles of those true and new house music enthusiasts.
