The mannequins stand like cold ghosts on display as fashion slaves on this crispy December morning on Rodeo drive. Glittering facades, secretive luxury cars, tourists on every corner, the contrasts are sharp and clear under the California sun. Just getting random shots as I see people become a part of the spectacle only to get sucked into the emptiness of the fashion world and its emphasis on prosperity. It’s a place for the wealthy yet it is mostly tourists snooping around, it’s all about the exterior, it seems that everywhere there are rich and talented pretty people you will also find the law around to look for a famous case to engage. I cut this film rather quickly in 2015 and thought of a theme that would have real people disappearing into this fake world of fashion and material wealth. There are no actors in the film, mostly tourists and fancy secretive cars. The theme is ‘pretty girl’ with the thought of every little kid getting lost in this otherworldly dimension and left bare for all to see.
