Promo Video for Tootle Resort in Costa Rica
FESCH.TV INFORMIERT:
THE PROBLEM STATEMENT
The client needed a promo video that could transmit to their audience and potential costumers the experience of staying at Totobe Resort in Playa San Miguel, Costa Rica.
Totobe Resort provided me with different drone footage taken by them for me to select, put together and edit. I used Envato Elements for finding complementary stock footage, music and various sound effects.
STRATEGY AND DELIVERABLES
Create a promo video to be used on Totobe’s website, YouTube and other long video format platforms, paid ads, external advertising like AirBnB, Booking.com, etc… The video should also be able to be distributed in small pieces of content (micro content) for use on different social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, TikTok,… as feed posts, reels, stories and paid ads.
VIDEO LENGHT
Minimum 45 minutes for the main video and an approximate of 15 seconds for the micro content.
KEYWORDS
Travel, family, close to nature, disconnect, eco-travel, self-sustainable, friendly, warm, Costa Rica, culture, connect with nature, nutritious food, vacation, sustainability, show the world what Totobe is about, create a video that evokes positive emotions on the viewer.
THE CREATIVE PROCESS
Step 1
Define the scope of the project. Secondary costumer research and stakeholder interviews.
Step 2
Synthesize findings and concretize the way forward through applying design thinking methodologies (UX Design).
Step 3
Find the right soundtrack. Make sure that it’s in alignment with the mood and emotions that we are trying to evoke.
Step 4
Once the right song has been selected, I listen to the song over and over again and I use it for inspiration to create the video’s Storyboard.
Step 5
Once I have the music and the storyboard in place, I go ahead and take a deep dive into all the RAW footage available for the project and select the most fitting in accordance to the storyboard.
Step 6
I create two to three different drafts, compare them and select the one that works the best.
Step 7
I work on the details, add stock footage if needed to fill in gaps, and appropriate sound effects. In this project I used different water sounds for the ocean, the waterfall and the mangrove, as well as breeze and bird sounds.
Step 8
Color grade and DONE! The video is now ready for the world.
