River Processes in the Stream Table

FESCH.TV INFORMIERT:

A stream table is a fun scale-model of a river that can be used to illustrate hands-on River Processes. This stream table video, taken from a live RiverSmart Communities‘ event in a park, has been edited to highlight river processes as they develop on the table. Blue dye highlights features and processes, including: surface water, groundwater, braided streams, the thalweg, springs, bank storage, cut bank, impervious infrastructure, gravel bars, travel time, sediment movement, channel meanders, width, length, slope, streamed, stream flow, and head cuts. 1 minute in stream-table time represents approximately 2 years of channel evolution.
