San Diego Chorus Fashion Flashbacks – 70th Anniversary Retrosective – FESCH.TV
FESCH.TV INFORMIERT:
in 2021, the San Diego Chorus celebrated 70 years of award-winning, 4-part a cappella harmony. A lot of exciting things were happening in the world in 1951.
For example …
– Color TVs were introduced
– I Love Lucy premiered on CBS
– A Streetcar Named Desire hit the silver screen
– The King and I debuted on Broadway
– The first Jack In Box opened in San Diego, California
– A new home cost about $9,000
– And gas was only .19 cents a gallon
As you can imagine, fashion has changed with the times, too. Costumes have always been a big part of our chorus culture … and over the course of seven decades, we’ve been through our fair share of outfilts.
Recently, we opened up our costume closet and took a fun look back over the years. Before we share with you, the San Diego Chorus tips our hats (and heels!) to the amazing efforts of Emeritus Member Jan Pruett. Her help and heart for our chorus make this walk down memory lane possible. Enjoy!
