„October is the perfect time to explore the dark, glamorous, and fantastical,“ says Savannah Powers, the creative force behind „Savvyou’s Glam Ghouls.“ This unique art series, produced alongside her husband, Nate Powers, captures the essence of the month with a blend of high fashion, intricate storytelling, and stunning visual artistry. Each video segment introduces a different ghoul preparing for a night out, each with her own distinct personality and style.

Clawdia Howle is the edgy leader of the Ghouls who lives for a good night out with her friends. By day, Clawdia is a punk pop princess and the lead howler in a band, but by night, her claws come out, transforming her into a literal party animal. Clawdia’s wild side is a sight to behold, making her the life of the party—until midnight, that is. Savannah reflects, „It’s hard to put into words what this feels like to see come to life. This all-original concept, brought to perfection by Nate, blows me away.“

Savannah credits the success of the series to the incredible team behind the scenes. Special effects makeup artists Omar Sfreddo and Milene Melendez, Emmy award-nominated artists known for their work on The Tomorrow War, The Color Purple, and Francis Ford Coppola’s upcoming Megalopolis, brought each character to life with flawless detail. „I met Omar on a film set before the strike, and his talent with full body paint is unmatched. Collaborating with him and Milene was magical,“ she shares. Loren Vierra, the still photographer, added glam editorial vibes, making each shot a masterpiece. „Loren truly gets the vision and inspires the models to create their characters as they shoot.“

Next in the lineup is Ambrosia Wormwood, the high fashion zombie who has built a brand around her unique undead appearance. With bone structure to die for, Ambrosia’s ghoulish good looks have landed her gigs on magazine covers worldwide. Savannah reminisces, „Melanie Pemrick was the perfect casting choice for Mrs. Ambrosia. Her energy on the runway translated into the character effortlessly.“ Nate’s excitement for the project was evident as he woke Savannah at 5 AM to show her the final cut, showcasing their synergy as a creative power couple.

Genevieve Fang, the classy vintage-styled vampire, lives a double life in Paris as a fashion designer. Her exclusive designs come at a deadly price, with many clients never making it out of her studio. „Sabrina has always given me vamp vibes, so she was perfect for Genevieve Fang,“ says Savannah. The spooky vamp SFX makeup by Omar and Milene, combined with Loren’s impeccable edits, brought this character to life. Savannah praises the team, „Their talent continues to blow my mind.“

Finally, Laguna Von Swamp is a mesmerizing sea creature exiled to a swamp after rebelling against her royal duties. Now, she frequents the swamp’s exclusive dive bars and is always up for a good night swim. Powers shares a special connection with Savannah Sweat, who played Laguna, calling her a soul sister. „We’re always on the same wavelength,“ she notes. Nate’s ability to capture the ethereal underwater feel, paired with original music by Lebron Arnwine, created a hauntingly beautiful segment. Arnwine, with over 20 years of experience in music production, brought an ethereal, underwater feel that complimented the visuals in a powerful way. „Savannah Sweat brought the siren look to life in the most beautiful yet eerie way possible,“ Savannah adds.

Reflecting on the series, Savannah expresses her gratitude: „I hope you have loved these Glam Ghouls as much as I loved creating them for you all! Thank you so much for all of your kind words and support. Feeling so thankful and blessed.“

This year, „Savvyou’s Glam Ghouls“ was honored with two Telly Awards. The series won a Silver People’s Telly Award in the Social Video category, recognizing its engaging storytelling and broad appeal. Additionally, it received a Bronze Telly Award for editing, highlighting Nate Powers’ exceptional skill in bringing each ghoul’s story to life. These accolades celebrate the dedication and creativity of the entire team behind the series. A completely independent production, they stood beside other award winners like Paramount Pictures, The Miami Dolphins, and John Hopkins All Children’s Hospital.
