SIMONE SUZANNE JORNA – LENSTRA

Dear Family and Friends,

Simone Suzanne Jorna – Lenstra, passed away peacefully on November 24th at the age of 44 after a courageous battle with cancer. Simone is survived by her husband Joost Jorna of 21 years, son Lars and daughter Celeste. Simone was born in Meppel, the Netherlands where she grew up until she and her family moved to Scottsdale, Arizona in December of 2016.

Simone was a natural beauty with effortless style and grace. Simone loved to travel and embraced the cultures of the many countries she visited. One of the first holidays she and Joost enjoyed together in America was to San Diego where they have engaged 21 years ago. Simone embraced San Diego as „where it all began“ for her and Joost as a couple, and this past summer, they traveled there again for what turned out to be a very special holiday as a family.

Simone always radiated light and positive energy to everyone around her. Her magnetic smile and embracing brown eyes made it easy for those she encountered to no longer be strangers, but instead new friends.

The simplest pleasures in life, such as traveling, a nice dinner with friends, or being at the gym brought the greatest joy to Simone. Above that was her love and devotion to her family, Joost, Lars, and Celeste. The family bond of love and respect that Simone instilled into her family will continue to carry on in her honor.

The best way to honor Simone’s memory is by living your life to the fullest: Say what is in your heart, act on your impulse to be kind and live with no regrets….

Thank you Simone for being the wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend who enriched our lives and through your love taught us how to love back.

You will forever be missed.
