Swiss Canyoning Adventure: Chli Schliere

In August 2017 I travelled the Swiss Alps for a week+ of climbing that included summiting the Matterhorn. After this, I was done with the climbing portion of my vacation, but I still wanted to squeeze in one more day of adventure travel. On August 30th, 2017 I participated in a canyoning trip with the guiding company Outdoor Interlaken (since renamed to Outdoor Switzerland AG). Our destination was the Chli Schliere river canyon (don’t ask me how to pronounce it; it’s a Swiss German name). It was a lot more extreme than I was expecting, some of those jumps had a small margin for error. Really fun, got the adrenaline going and my heart pumping. In the video I am wearing the helmet that says John Deere.

After the climbing and canyoning I was exhausted, beat up, and in need of recovery days. The rest of my vacation in Europe was devoted to monuments, museums, and scenic strolls through the woods.
