Take it with you when you travel far | Super 16mm Bolex Test Footage
FESCH.TV INFORMIERT:
Back in September I got speaking with a mentor and friend of mine, Richard Shean, about having some motive to get shooting when ideas are running dry. He suggested he dug out his old Bolex H16 for me to try. I have always been drawn to analog format and the process of shooting film so this was the perfect opportunity to develop my skills in photography and satisfy a long lasting desire to shoot 16mm. After a lengthy servicing process (postponed due to covid) I finally got my first roll shot and this is the result.
It’s rough around the edges, a little over and under exposed in places but I am overjoyed with the results. For those of you wondering, the Bolex is an early non-reflex model from the 50’s that has been modified to Super 16. I shot it all with an SOM Bertholt 17-85mm/2 (unfortunately vignettes on Super 16) and the stock is Kodak Vision 3 250D.
Until the next roll 🙂
