December 12/21/2021 is the day of our Winter Solstice. It is the shortest day of the year and the longest night signaling a powerful transition point between our seasons. It is not a coincidence that we celebrate the light near the darkest time of the year. Stringing lights on trees and houses, wood burning in the fireplace, and igniting pine scented candles uplifts our spirits as we travel into the inner caves of our lives to hibernate for the winter.
The winter solstice celebrates the longest hours of darkness or the rebirth of the sun and is believed to hold a powerful energy for regeneration, renewal, inertia, solitude, and self-reflection.
