TOP TEN: Amaranthe

This band was formed in 2008 in Sweden by Olof Mörck (guitars, synthesisers, keyboards), Elize Ryd (vocals), Morten Løwe Sørensen (drums), Joacim ‚Jake E‘ Lundberg (vocals, bass) & Andreas Solveström (unclean vocals) and later bassist Johan Andreasen. They started as Avalanche but had to rename themselves in Amaranthe due to legal issues. They recorded their debut album with the same name and released the album in 2011 with moderate chart success. In 2013 their follow up album ‚The Nexus‘ reached the Top 10 in Sweden and Finland. Shortly therafter Solveström left the group and got replaced by Henrik Englund Wilhelmsson. With their fourth album ‚Massive Addictive‘ (released in 2014) they reached new Chart regions like Germany, Switzerland and the US Top 200 album charts. Their 4th album ‚Maximalism‘ scored Top 5 in the Swedish and Finnish album charts. Then in 2016 Jake E left the group and was replaced by Nils Molin. In 2018 they released their album ‚Helix‘ and reached #4 in Finnland and the Top 30 in Germany.
