TOP TEN: Scott, Calum

He was born in the UK in 1988. His parents split up when he was just 2 years old and his father then moved to Canada. Calum learned to play the drums while his sister encouraged him to sing. In 2013 Calum Scott participated at the talent competition ‚Mail’s Star Search‘ and won. Soon thereafter he joined a Maroon 5 tribute band called ‚Maroon 4‘ and toured around the UK. In 2014 he formed an electronic duo called „The Experiment“ with John McIntyre. In 2015 he auditioned for the ninth series of „Britain’s Got Talent“ and finished 6th. His version of Robyn’s „Dancing On My Own“ became his first major hit, peaking at #2 in the UK and in Australia.

In 2018 he released his debut album ‚Only Human‘ which peaked at #4 in the UK and #5 in Australia, while also reaching the charts across the globe. In 2021 his collab with Belgian DJ ‚Lost Frequencies‘ became his 2nd Top 3 hit in his homecountry as it peaked at #3, while topping the Irish Single Charts and also reaching Top 5 in Germany and Australia and Top 10 in Denmark, Netherlands and Sweden among other countries.
