In the park it’s a feature documentary about the feeling, the mood, the poetry and the life stories of the people that make the human dimension of a park. In the park there is a crowd of people going not only to see plants and flowers. What are their dreams and emotions? Why are they there? Why they need nature in a world which is loosing it? Human-Nature brings you to discover the park other world, inside our mind. In a world which is loosing breath, there are people going there to take a breath for their mind.
We live in a planet which is loosing his life. The urban population overcame the wild and country ones in 2009. If we loose nature, we will loose our mind.
Giovanni, an homeless man who lives in the park. “I live here. The park is my life, I cannot live in a house. Here I can breath, feel the sun, sleep. I put my tent there. I know it’s illegal but for now they pushed out me only once. And if you have a little, you have a lot”, he says.
There is an antagonist: the city. The park is inside in one of the main Italian cities, with a strong industrial story, now more a finance, fashion, design, media city. Home of 1.3 million people, it’s a concrete cancer with very few parks. And is the worst city in Europe for air pollution. It’s the symbol of our times: rich and fully connected, but where loneliness it‘ spread all over.
Outside there are skyscrapers, traffic, a way of life where money and look are important and where problems are generated. Inside the park there are still people going there to try something different. The same that Giovanni feels: more happiness. And the way of life of Giovanni os opposite to the way of life that people in Milan live: claustrophobic, stressed. And hearing the voices of the other people going to the park, the guys which walk on the slack line to feel free, a man with a chicken friend, a yogi who feel the sun on his skin, the mothers of newborns making the pram gym to be fit again and many others, we understand that we need nature because is the world we are loosing. Climate change is arriving, as the activist of Fridays for future says in front of the park. Can we understand their message?
