After being named a Hasselblad Heroine in 2022, Lola Akinmade Åkerström travelled to Abisko and Kiruna in the Swedish Lapland, where she had the opportunity to photograph the indigenous Sami people.
The trip included sleigh rides, meeting and eating with the locals and discovering far-reaching landscapes covered in perfectly-fallen and picturesque snow.
She chats to us about her journey to becoming a travel photographer and more – all with her Hasselblad X1D II in hand.
