We are back! Here is a little Jacinta Mc Glynn Travelbiz movie of a historic travel industry golf tay in glorious Wicklow sunshine yesterday. It’s been a long time coming but it was so good to see our IIndustry back together again.

The first TIGS outing since ‘you know what’ hit us teed off with a full time sheet at the fabulous Druid’s Glen golf course in Co Wicklow on July 7th. There was pent-up enthusiasm, a great sense of camaraderie and, naturally, amazing golf – well, from some members anyway! Other players (and absolutely no names shall be mentioned) simply enjoyed a wonderful day out. A few putts missed here and there, a few balls lost in the rough, a few stray shots in the water, but hey ho, that’s golf, so any sense of frustration carries us on to fight another day! As for that par 3 at the 17th…….

Perfectly organised with Lady Captain Olwen Mc Kinney boasting the longest serving captaincy in history, it was a memorable reunion for trade partners. Delicious barbecue and really friendly and efficient service at Druid’s Glen ended a perfect day out. It was social, it was fun, but there was deadly serious golf too, so an all-round marvellous day out for the trade. Our industry has been so badly affected, so a bit of diversion was just the ticket (well, apart from an airline ticket perhaps!). This outing was long awaited and the wait was totally worth it.
