VERY BEST: OneRepublic

This band was formed in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 2002. Originally they were singer Ryan Tedder, guitarist Zach Filkins, guitarist Drew Brown, bassist and celist Brent Kutzle, drummer Eddie Fisher and keyboardist Brian Willet. Originally they named themselves „Republic“ but after their record company mentioned that their name might result in legal action from other bands, they renamed themselves to „OneRepublic“. Their breakthrough came in 2007 when producer Timbaland reworked their single „Apologize“ and helped them to huge chart success – becoming their first #1 in Germany, reaching Top 3 in the UK and their homecountry USA. Their debut album „Dreaming Out Loud“ also released in 2007 reached #2 in the UK and the Top Ten in Germany.

Their 2nd album „Waking Up“ was released in 2009 and reached the Top 20 in Germany and the Top 30 in the USA. 4 singles were released from this album, the most successful one „Secrets“ reached #3 in Germany. In 2013 OneRepublic released their 3rd album „Native“ – the album peaked at #4 in the USA and in Germany, and reached Top Ten in the UK. It was certified platinum in the USA, Australia, Germany, Austria and Switzerland and triple platinum in Canada. The single „Counting Stars“ topped the UK and Canadian album charts and reached #2 in the USA and Australia and #3 in Germany.

In 2016 they released their 4th album „Oh My My“ – it reached #3 in the US album charts (their best rank so far in their homecountry), as well as Top Ten in the UK, Germany and Australia.
