Join us to talk to three successful businesswomen, from different walks of life and different connections to FIT, about their businesses and brands. They will share their experiences about what it means to be empowered female entrepreneurs in today’s global marketplaces. The discussion will explore their journeys in building and growing their businesses, and importantly how they’ve overcome challenges presented by the pandemic.

Folasade Ologundudu is a Brooklyn-born writer, FIT Alumna in International Trade and Marketing ‘19, and multidisciplinary artist. Her work explores social issues of identity, race, and youth culture as it pertains to art, fashion and media. She’s the founder of Light Work, a creative platform rooted at the intersection of art, education and culture.Â
Natalia Trevino Amaro is the founder of her namesake brand Natalia Trevino Amaro, a size inclusive, slow fashion brand. She is an FIT Alumna in Fashion Design AAS ‘20. She uses social media: youtube, instagram, tiktok, and patreon to showcase, promote and grow her business. In addition to clothing and accessories, she also has her own podcast covering all things fashion and sustainability.Â
Shara McHayle is a native New Yorker and the Founder and CEO of Hoop 88 Dreams, an e-commerce platform that specializes exclusively in hoop earrings. Before this venture, she has had an illustrious career as a business partner with the iconic streetwear brand PNB, and in the music industry, managing the career of Pete Rock. She is the proud aunt of student Anya Swapp, FIT Cultural Fellow, Fashion Business Management major, and Student Government Association Senator for International Students.
